About me
I am a 22-year-old rider and groom from East Sussex. I have been riding for 18 years and worked on a variety of yards including, riding schools, livery yards and competition yards. I studied History, Drama, Biology at A level and completed an EPQ in Music History. Between 2018 and 2021 I worked for Felicity Collins in various capacities, taking responsibility for her horses from foals to 5* when she was away competing. I also compete in a variety of disciplines and over the years I have competed in Showjumping, Eventing, Showing and Dressage. I have a basic understanding Western Riding and have some experience of mounted games.
In 2017 is established V5 Equestrian and now operate as a freelance Rider and Groom. I have been working on a private yard for the past two years as a rider / groom, grooming at competitions, running the yard on a day-to-day basis and schooling young horses. I have also been teaching riding to a variety of adults and children, with a range of abilities from first time riders to competently jumping 80cm over the past 6 years. I have really enjoyed being involved with the journeys of the riders and ponies and I feel that teaching people to rider has improved my own riding. I would definitely like to pursue my teaching further and am looking to complete my BHS stage

I have recently decided to expand my work to include a few other areas including dog walking and house sitting.
I was the Youth Ambassador at Uckfield Music Club from 2019 to 2021 where I performed in a number of roles including helping run live events, corresponding with local schools and artists, attending meetings and setting up and managing social media platforms. I feel that these experiences have helped me in my work as a groom as they have enabled me understand event running for an inside to perspective and improved my aagement strategies.
I have been exploring volunteer roles since I would 13, volunteering in riding schools and on livery yards to gain experience and spend time with horses. More recently I have volunteered at London International Horse Show and Royal Windsor Horse Show which I have really enjoyed and will do again this year. I have made some great friends and met many helpful contacts at these events too. Over the next year I would like to complete my C + E driving test which will enable me to drive HGVs too.
I have a multitude of excellent references for all my work and I will always be happy to send these over to anyone who would like to see them.
